The Colorado Rockies announced yesterday that they have outrighted RHP Chris Nichting off the 40-man roster.
In 2001, Nichting pitched with Colorado and Cincinnati. He had a combined record of 0-3 with a 4.46 ERA. He finished 2001 with 40 strikeouts in 42.1 innings of work. Nichting appeared in seven games for the Rockies in 2001. He compiled a 4.50 ERA in 6.0 innings of work.
Colorado signed Nichting as a free agent on September 19. He opened the season in the Cincinnati Reds organization.
Colorado now has 37 players under control on its 40-man roster.
