There was an interesting discussion on Sports radio last night about Grady Little. The general consensus is that he blew a lot of games last year.

A couple of examples. The Sox were up 11-1 in the 6th inning. Grady uses Embree and Howry in the last 4 innings. The next night, we were up by 3 runs in the 8th. Having spent Embree and Howry the night before, he threw Castillo out there, who promptly gave up 5 runs and we lost.

People seem to think we have the firepower to come from behind a lot. What we can't have, is moves like last year, where we're down by 3 in the 7th, and Grady decides to rest Nomah and Manny. The scrubs get on base, start rallies, and instead of Manny coming up, you have Rickey Henderson.

He did that crap a lot. Gave up too early. Hope he improves.

Thoughts?

Well I said this last year and I'll say it again: Rookies make mistakes, but they learn and they improve. Last year, Grady was a rookie manager. I only hope he learns from his mistakes and does a better job this year. No doubt he did some real bonehead things last year.

grady is a bonehead and needs to unbonehead himself. and learn to manage better. when up 11-1, you throw castillo out there, not embree and howry.

you give guys rests when you have a 8 run deficit (or lead), not a 3 run deficit. jiminy crowe! even i can manage better than that!

Okay. Let's hope he did learn.

Btw, here's his opening day line-up.

Nomah
Manny

1-7 looks pretty good.
