Derek Lowe is not pitching with confidence. However, besides the home run ball he gave up, no one was really hitting him hard. Mostly ground balls that were finding holes. I'd be more concerned if he was giving up warning track shots to every other batter. In any case, he pitched well enough to put us in a position to win the game, and the bullpen cleaned things up nicely.

Oh yeah, GO CELTS! :umm

Yup, its true. I just think our defense needs to be tighter. He needs to get himself a few great games, like the beginning of the season last year, to get his confidence back. You know, I didnt get the chance to see him throw the no no last year, cuz I was in Vancouver. DOH!!! Someone said something really clever last nite on one of the local news stations, he said "the Sox are winless in March, however, they are undefeated in April." hehe I thought that was pretty funny. WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO 2 in a row baby!!!!!!! And the Celts won 3 in a row!!!!! :clap2:

How are the Bruins doing? :umm

They'll be lucky to last five games in the playoffs. They are going to have to play Ottawa or Philly in the first round, and they are going to get HAMMERED.

good point. is it better to make the playoffs and get hammered? or to sit at home and avoid the embarassment?

Well, anything can happen in the playoffs. If you sit home and watch, you have no chance.

On another note, we've got a 10 reply thread going here and Princess isn't around. I never thought I'd see the day! :D

And the Celts are the 6th seed in the playoffs as of now, but we only have 7 more games to go.

whoo hoo 10 reply thread without our princess. :)

hmmm. good point babs. i do happen to agree with it that its better to get embarassed in the playoffs cuz at least you got a chance to win, which is more than you can do if youre sitting at home drinking a beer.

We beat them for the first time in eons a couple of weeks ago, but looked like crap against the Devils on Sunday, so who knows. I love those blue-and-orange bastards, but they'll be the death of me yet. :banghead

You know, I love the playoffs, wether its baseball, basketball or football. However, when it comes around, I feel kinda sad, cuz I know the season is over and soon Ill have to wait around for months til the new season starts....but thats just how I feel. Anyone else feels that way? :)

Lots of good chatter here!

The Bruins get NJ first round. They would have had a shot with Philly, not NJ.

The C's can NOT beat Jersey. Anyone else they'll be okay.

The Sox look HORRIBLE! A bunch of fat guys, station-to-station ball, the worst D in MLB. Theo put an AWFUL team together.

Tampa, by contrast, looks good. Speedy, and athletic. Last year, we had speed, and good D, which got us off on the right foot.

This year, we don't. Add that to a NIGHTMARE of a pen, and I IN ALL HONESTY see a .450 season. If we can't handle Tampa, what's gonna happen when we play the A's, Yanks, Texas?

We will get MURDERED.

Go Pats!

Princess, you said it yourself about Tampa Bay: Maybe they are just THAT much improved over last season. Lou Pinella is one of only two or three managers in MLB that can actually have that kind of impact on a team.

As far as the Sox being slow, what else is new? We're a slow, slugging bunch every year. We didn't lose any speed demons in the off season. Fenway is a not a park where speed will win you ballgames like it will in bigger parks.

Your attitude has gone from 100 wins to .450, over a span of three games. Give it some time, yo.

:D My attitude has gone down since I've actuallywatched this team. We lost Sanchez and Baerga, who were speedy.

Since Damon can't get on base, his speed is useless.

Fine, I'll stop *****ing for a few games. These guys better prove me wrong.

Baerga used to be speedy. :D

Don't change your attitude on my account. I'm just trying to stay optomistic as long as possible. :)
