Cooperstown

Who the heck had the great idea to build the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown??? I'm sure the folks in central NY are happy..... but for the rest of us it is in the middle of no where! :angry:

I'm sure there is a good reason..... but I wish it were in a city with an airport :hmm:

I thought the first baseball game was in Hoboken, New Jersey! :umm

Even it the first game was in Cooperstown, they could put the HOF in a better place. :)

I missed it in NYC, but it'll be in Chicago when I'm there. It's definitely on my itinerary! :bigsquare

Ok, in 1839, as legend has it, Abner Doubleday invented baseball in Cooperstown....

It has been since revealed that Doubleday was a cadet at the US military acadamy at West Point, NY and there is no credible evidence that he even visited Cooperstown that year or that he even had anything to do with the creation of baseball....

The HOF was picked at Cooperstown because of Doubleday "allegedly"inventing baseball there.....

I will be visiting the HOF for the first time ever in 1 month....Cant wait!!!:clap2:

Ray, I plan on going Monday of that week that I'm there, if you want to meet up with me. I could go Tuesday instead of Monday if it's better for you.
