Small children and elderly alike are taking to the streets of Boston celebrating a rare, and unbelievable 10 run save!!!!

The pressure was on, the Sox leading by a mere 10, but Brandon Lyon stepped up and closed the door. It's been reported Tom Menino, mayor of Boston, will present Brandon with a key to the city.

The relievers who didn't pitch said, well, we only had 5 and 3 run leads to hold, 10 is a tad easier.

A collective sigh of relief could be heard throughout New England, with fans chanting this is our year!

Sox batters said fine, we'll just score 12 runs every game and it will be fine.

Story reported by Pedro's Princess, who was talked down off the Tobin bridge last night by a woman only known as Nanner. :smokin:

Okay, but who's gonna talk me down!

Both the O's and the Mets. An incredibly awful baseball day. R-Lo not pitching like the ace we all know he is, and worst of all, Freakin' Armando Benitez coming in and giving up 4 runs, blowing the 1 run lead that the Mets worked so hard to get. Tony Clark, of all people, with a 2-run homer took us ahead.

Sigh. Sorry to bring all of this into your forum.

I hate baseball.

I need a drink.

i needed a drink too. cubs blew a 4-0 lead cuz they couldnt score after the 1st. :(

R-Lo is still the man. Matthews screwed him up by misplaying that ball.:(

And the Mets will be fine. I think closers should pay the team, instead of getting paid. Honest to God, if they blow a save, they pay the fans.

Okay. I haven't even checked the gamelog. Couldn't bring myself to do it. I'll do it tomorrow. :sigh: Matthews made an error? :(

Ray. Drinks are on me. Blown leads suck.

I'm telling you, I'm so sick of Armando Benitez. Right now I'd love one of those "closer by committee" deals. I'd pay for that.

Matthews had a catchable ball that he misplayed when the game was 4-1. That made it 7-1. R-Lo was swearing, you could see he wanted to kill Matthews.

R-Lo will be fine.

Ohhhhhhh. Wow. Li'l Sarge doesn't usually make errors. He usually makes a good effort. I hope R-Lo doesn't kill him.
