The Red Sox picked up Pedro's option for 2004!! WOO HOO! I expected to see that posted here!

Took them frickin' long enough to exercise the option. Fackers.

now he can concentrate on mowing down batters. :)

It's about time? I disagree with them picking up this option this early in the season. $17.5 million is a lot of money for an injury prone pitcher. Pedro may be my favorite player in baseball, but he better not be expecting this kind of money on a yearly basis for his extension...

A pitcher like Pedro comes along maybe once every 20 years. He's worth taking the chance on. After the messes with Roger Clemens and Mo Vaughn, Red Sox managament would have been stupid to let another popular superstar walk away because of a contract debate.

If Pedro stays healthy, $17.5 million will be a bargain.

WOOOOHOOOOO!!! Ive been out of the sports world for a whole day. Kinda slow....:D I think Pedro is going to have one of his finest years. Hes been pitching like a gem, only giving up 1 run w/ 12 K's in 15 innings. A great start for him. Its just a shame how much our bullpen sucks. Do I think hes worth the money? Yes, cuz hes proven he can kick serious ass at about 80% health. And now since hes 100%, we can see the old Pedro. Just hope our bullpen can hold it together. :cool:

Well, I'm glad this was picked up. HOWEVER, I wish it wasn't such a circus. And yes, Pedro is the best pitcher to wear a Sox uniform.

I did a little checking, the pen has blown 10 Pedro starts in 2 years. A lot of ND.:angry:
