Help me with some hockey here

Ok, so I know practically nothing about hockey ... But I was watching the Bruins-Devils game today, and thought it was a complete bullpoop call on Grosek, apparently for looking cross-eyed at the Devils goalie ... Don't understand why he got 2 mins for that ... Are you just not allowed in so many feet of the goalie? ... Or is there some rule that if you're on the other team standing next to the Devils player that actually knocked their own goalie over, the penalty is on you? :umm

Hmmm...I'd have to see the play to know what the call was. There is no real rule for being in front of the goalie, but if you are in the crease disrupting the goalie and a goal is scored, the goal is disallowed. Also, you are not allowed to hit the goalie is long as he is front of the net, unless you are pushed into him. Again, I'd have to see the call (I didn't watch the game yesterday).

Grosek and a Devils player sort of got hooked together and then went into the crease, but it was the Devils player who actually bumped his own goalie down, guess they were saying Grosek was pushing the other player who then came in contact with the goalie ... Just seems like there are other instances, like in the NBA, where no foul is called depsite there being more contact or more intent to foul.
