What should Major League Baseball do in order to keep fans from running out onto fields?

Stop selling alcohol earlier in the game
OK, when I can LEGALLY :D drink at baseball games in about five months, they had better not be stopping beer sales in like the 5th inning or something. I would f'n rage.
Just because Chicago is full of white trash doesn't mean that the rest of baseball should suffer.

hey, you mean the southside. :D
the only way they can get fans to attend their games is half price night (like tuesday night) where anything and everything (including beer) is half priced
you wont find too many crazy fans on the northside since security is now camped out at the lower end where the walls are lower and if you wanna fall 20 feet to charge the field now, go right ahead and break your skull. :D
i believe in sending them into a cell with a big guy named bubba and a nice 10K fine would suffice. :)

Hey, they could make anybody who drinks alcohol put on one of those electric dog collar things....and have them install an invsibile fence around the playing field...
...and then when some intoxicated moron tries to take out the 70-year old defenseless first base coach...
ZAP!
That would sober that guy's ass up real quick. Plus, it would give security ample time to go over and kick the sh!t out of the guy.
:D

Ensure that troublemakers receive stiff punishments! :2guns:
Option #2: Putting snipers in the upper deck to pick off the crazies. :D

Dan, Take it from someone who works at Shea Stadium in the concessions department. I work behind a counter selling hot dogs; soda, popcorn; coffee; hot chocolate; cracker jacks; peanuts; and beer. The cutoff for beer sales is the bottom of the seventh inning, so in 5 months you will not have a problem getting your beer. The only problem you may encounter is being IDed for that beer.

Getting rid of alcohal will not solve anything, just reduce attendce even more. They just need to steepen the punishments. Not only what the law gives them, but ban them from any event at that stadium, ever.

Alcohol may contribute to the overall stupidity of a person, but I doubt if you can blame a desire to commit assault at a ballgame on it. I've drank enough barley pop at games to blow out several livers, and never have had the desire to charge anything besides another beer.
MLB should take the All Star Game away from the White Sox this season, and give it to a city where the fans know how to act in public, or at least put up a chicken wire fence to keep the idiots off the field.
