The Rockies agreed to terms with RHP Scott Elarton on a one-year contract on Nov. 7. The 25-year old made four starts for the Rockies in 2001 after being acquired from Houston on July 31. As a Rockie, Elarton was 0-2 with a 6.65 ERA (23.0 ip, 17 er), with 10 walks and 11 strikeouts. GM Dan O'Dowd said he expects big things from Elarton, but left the option open that he might pitch out of the bullpen.

The next Big Unit (he's 6' 8"). I hope he can improve on that 7 ERA.

Poor Elarton:crying2:
His once promising career is now over having to pitch at Coors...
Well at least his kids can go to good schools ala Hampy:biggrin:

Actually...............
Hampy, Neagle, Elarton, John Thompson and youngins Shawn Chacon and Jason Jennings make up a pretty nice pitching staff.....These guys would be very formitable IMO in most stadiums.....

Ah, pitching and Coors Field. The funny thing is, these guys can't seem to pitch on the road, either. I normally don't bring up player's salaries because frankly, it's not my money. But I'd be willing to bet that the Rox could have finished in last place without Hampy and Neagle, and spent that $170+ million stocking their farm system...but that's a whole different can o' worms.

Hmmmm, if you find anyone to take that bet let me know as I would get in on that one as well:biggrin:
Good point:)
