NEW YORK -- Colorado first baseman Todd Helton took over from Arizona pitcher Randy Johnson as baseball's top player, according to the annual statistical rankings released Wednesday by the Elias Sports Bureau.

Helton received a 99.13 score out of 100, based on statistics from 2000 and 2001. Johnson, who helped the Diamondbacks win the World Series, was second at 98.25, followed by Chicago Cubs outfielder Sammy Sosa at 97.634.

thats awesome!!! for a second i thought you were playing a trick like making up a news report. If the rockies next year can avoid making numerous bad trades for awhile they could rebuild.

oh yeah hahaha i remember when you did the trade analysis earlier this year how many trades turned out badly. reminded me of a certain pittsburgh team.
