GOLDBERG WINS, LESNAR RETAINS TITLE
- One of the few remaining dream matches left, the one between Goldberg
and The Rock, ended with Goldberg getting the win after two spears and a
jackhammer. The match was relatively short compared to previous main
events and totally fell flat as far as a wrestling match goes. Fans even
turned on Goldberg during the match! And so Goldberg's winning streak
started yesterday, who's next? In the only heavyweight title match of
the evening, Lesnar and Cena pulled a decent match with Cena getting
some good support from the crowd. A bloody Lesnar finished off Cena with
an F5 to retain the title.
In other matches, Team Angle defeated Los Guerreros in the opening match
of the night to retain their Smackdown! gold. The match was probably the
best one of the night and Team Angle stole a victory, although Guerreros
ended up having the last laugh by stealing the gold; Sean O'Haire got a
victory in his first WWE singles PPV outing over Rikishi. Rikishi
crushed a coconut over Piper's head at the closing moments which led
Piper to bleed, probably the hard way; Kane and Rob Van Dam defeated the
Dudley Boyz with RVD's 5 star frog splash. Dudley Boyz turned face once
again by beating on special referee Chief Morley and getting rid of
Lance Storm who interfered; Jazz became the new Women's champion after
Teddy Long distracted Trish by throwing a shoe at her while covering
Jazz. Not a bad match; The Big Show annihilated Rey Mysterio and the
masked man was the subject of the 'Holy $hit' moment of the night. After
a stretcher job, Show returned to the ring, picked Mysterio who was
still in the stretcher and used him as a baseball bat aiming at the ring
post. Unbelievable strength. The sound was sick, so was the fall; Triple
H, Ric Flair and Chris Jericho won their six man tag team match after
Kevin Nash did the job to his friend Triple H. HHH knocked out Nash with
a sledgehammer to gain the pinfall.
