My very first live Mets game and they won! :clap2: It was a pretty cool game! Although I had to work at keeping James from getting to Benitez lol , although I thought it would be pretty funny if we had to go bail James outta jail this weekend! :D now that would be a story for my addicts peeps! :D

As Rick Reed once said, "once a Met, always a Met."

I know people who used to be Skank fans, but who are now Mets fans (but I don't know anyone who made the opposite journey). Nanner, Metmagic and I know someone who grew up a Red Sox fan, but who is now a die-hard Mets fan. I met someone who grew up in Pittsburgh as a Pirates fan, but who now bleeds blue-and-orange. My father grew up a big-time Tigers fan (back in the 1940s, he would to hitchhike from Saginaw for games), but now he says that, if there were a Mets/Tigers WS, he'd root for the Mets.

It affects the players too. Turk Wendell said that being a Met was the best thing that ever happened to him. Edgardo Alfonzo took out ads on NYC taxis thanking Mets fans for their support over the years. Rick Reed and Todd Pratt cried when they were traded away, and Todd refused an opportunity to sign with the Skanks.

For the most part, when that blue-and-orange gets into your blood, it doesn't leave.

Tigers are still my team! alway will be... but since I got to know a lot of the people here I find myself rooting for the Mets and watching Met games on tv, if there isn't a Tigers game on...

I'm not saying you should change. I'm just saying that the Mets are easy to love -- even when you want desperately to hate them. Like I do now, for instance...

lol I know what you're saying... but at least they have won what? 13 games? they're 13 - 18 aren't they? my Tigers are 4 - 25 lol... but a positive attitude is the key to a happy and successful season, no matter what the standings.
