Okay. I'm taking nothing for granted. Do you hear me?!?!? NOTHING!!!! Those wins against Detroit last week weren't all that easy, so these guys gotta give it all they've got.

:D

How's that for a pep talk?!?!

JJ's back, having given that bothersome finger of his an extra day's chance to heal. I wanna see some offense from Bubble-Boy now that he's back. He showed me nothing the last two games. BJ's out for a bit, but we've got Big, who's trying to show them he's meant for the big team.

GO O'S!!!!!!!

Orioles welcome Tigers
Detroit (4-25) at Baltimore (16-14), 7:05 p.m. EDT
By Gary Washburn / MLB.com

BALTIMORE -- The Orioles go from facing the top team in the American League Central to the one with the worst record.
The Orioles swept the Tigers in Detroit last week, and they will face two pitchers who gave them fits at Comerica Park. Nate Cornejo allowed just one run in seven innings last week and received a no-decision, and Mike Maroth took a no-hitter into the eighth inning before picking up the loss.

Right-hander Jason Johnson got an extra day off Sunday to rest a sore middle finger, and he will try to match his win total from last season when he gets the ball Monday. Johnson was effective last Tuesday against the Tigers, tossing five scoreless innings before leaving when a callous cracked on his middle finger.

The Royals took two of three from the O's this past weekend, as Baltimore scored only eight runs in the series.

The O's have won 14 of their past 22 games and five of seven, and they are 3 1/2 games behind the Red Sox. Baltimore will begin a seven-game road trip to Kansas City and Chicago after this series.

Pitching matchup:
BAL: RHP Jason Johnson

4-0, 2.13 in 2003
1-0, 0.00 in 2003 vs. DET
2-2, 5.14 lifetime vs. DET

DET: RHP Nate Cornejo

1-2, 2.96 in 2003
0-1, 1.29 in 2003 vs. BAL
0-1, 1.29 in 2003 vs. BAL\

Players to watch: Larry Bigbie will now be the everyday left fielder because B.J. Surhoff is on the disabled list. This is Bigbie's big chance.

Quotable: "Their pitching has improved dramatically. If they get the same pitching performances, I don't see why they can't compete." -- Orioles manager Mike Hargrove on the Royals.
