Devil Rays Sign Outfielder Quinn
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Mark Quinn signed a minor league contract with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and was to report to Triple-A Durham.
Quinn was released by the Kansas City Royals on March 11, then signed with the San Diego Padres and spent April at Triple-A Portland.
He batted .298 with three homers, four doubles and 12 RBI in 16 games at Portland, but was released May 2.
The 28-year-old outfielder spent parts of four seasons with Kansas City from 1999-2002, hitting .282 with 45 homers in 293 games. He batted .294 with 20 homers and 78 RBI as a rookie in 2000.
