Very sad news out of Perryton. He had gone home this weekend, when it looks like things were turning for the worst. It sounds like the family was with her, which is very comforting.
Prayers and thoughts out to Mike.

Hargrove expected to miss at least 3 more games

CHICAGO -- Baltimore Orioles manager Mike Hargrove is expected to miss at least three more games following the death of his mother.
Rita Ann Hargrove died after a long illness Monday in Amarillo, Texas, where she had been hospitalized after undergoing several surgeries in late April. She was 73.
Services will be held Thursday in Perryton, Texas, the Orioles said Tuesday. Mike Hargrove, who left the team Saturday to be with his mother, will remain in Texas until at least Friday and might not return to the bench until Saturday, said bench coach Sam Perlozzo, who has managed the club in his absence.
The Orioles opened a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night. Perlozzo said he had spoken to Hargrove since his mother passed.
"He sounded pretty good," Perlozzo said. "He said Mrs. Hargrove woke up on Mother's Day and was able to say goodbye to family members.
"He was very much at peace that that had happened," Perlozzo said.
Hargrove also missed six games from April 20-25 to be with his mother when she had surgery. The procedures included the removal of her gall bladder and part of her intestines.
The Orioles also announced Tuesday that catcher Brook Fordyce was reinstated following a bereavement leave after the death of his father.
"It's been very tough for the Oriole family over the last couple of weeks," Perlozzo said. "We got one guy back ... and we'll be looking forward to getting Grover back."
To make room for Fordyce, the Orioles sent catcher Robert Machado outright to Triple-A Ottawa after he cleared waivers.
