Man. I love watching him pitch. What a cool customer he is.
Oh, my.
Wilson just hit a 2-run dinger. Dang.
Okay. Pat Strange. Hang in there, Buddy. Get Walker out.
Nanner
05-14-2003, 12:21 AM
HE GOT WALKER!!!! YAAAAAAY!!!
:hail:
It'd be nice if we scored a couple of runs here in the top of the 8th. Not that I'm greedy or anything.
:D
Baseball Guru
05-14-2003, 12:24 AM
YEA!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, play has now resumed with Cerda on the mound for the lefty/lefty match-up vs Helton...
Wonder why Stanton didnt come in to face helton...:umm
With Helton, I dont think the lefty/lefty match-up matters....He is too good of a hitter....
Baseball Guru
05-14-2003, 12:54 AM
:ugh:
Well, looks as thought the Guru knows what he is talking about when he says that a lefty/lefty match-up vs Helton didnt matter as he hits a single up the middle.....
And now Cerda must face the hottest hitter on the planet--Preston Wilson...
Bad move IMO by Howe on this one...:thumbdown
Baseball Guru
05-14-2003, 12:56 AM
And of course Wilson promtly hits a single to tie up the game at 8:barf:
Again, I would have left Weathers (the more experianced pitcher) in to face Helton...
1st and 3rd with 2 outs and Cerda facing Walker who seems so due for a hit....
Baseball Guru
05-14-2003, 12:59 AM
Ah yes and the Mets are now falling apart as Cerda throws a wild pitch and Piazza actually had a play as the ball bounced off the backstop but he threw the ball wide left and the run scores....
Rox now lead 9-8 as the inning is finally over:barf:
Geez, these Mets are absolutely HORRIBLE:banghead
Way to waste a nice pitching performance by Glavine bullpen:angry:
Baseball Guru
05-14-2003, 01:02 AM
Piazza pops up for the 1st out in the 9th:banghead
Nanner
05-14-2003, 01:04 AM
:sigh:
You're right. Shoulda left Weathers in.
I hate all this lefty/righty/lefty/lefty/righty crap.:banghead
Dang. Brilliant performance by Tommy just thrown in the toilet.
:(

C'mon Wiggy!!!!
Shinjo coming in to PR for Timo:umm
Unless Timo is hurt, I dont get that:umm
Baseball Guru
05-14-2003, 01:09 AM
And Wiggy grounds out to 3B to end the game...
Good going Mets.....Way to blow a 7-0 lead in the 7th by giving up 9 runs in the 7th and 8th innings combined!!!!
Way to go!!!:banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead
This team plain STINKS!!!
Arghhhhhhhhhhhh:banghead

This is an odd day, one roommate is from Colorado and is a Rockies fan. The other is from Jersey and is a Met fan. They got into a pretty good argument earlier over Chacon. I just sat back and watched.

Hmmm, that must have been interesting...
What was the arguement about??
Special_K19

The Met fan siad something to the effect of "Chacon is a great pither," but with a whole lot of sarcasm since he was getting rocked. Then the Rockie fan retorted with something about Armando. And it went back and forth for a while escalating in anger and abusing each other's sports teams. :hmm:
