Helling hopes to get O's on track
Baltimore (18-20) at Chicago (18-20), 8:05 p.m. ET

CHICAGO -- After beginning their seven-game roadtrip with two momentum-boosting wins over Kansas City, the Orioles have dropped three in a row, including Tuesday's 1-0 loss to Chicago. The Orioles are two games below .500 and have lost five of seven games.
Rick Helling will get the responsibility of getting Baltimore on the winning track. He is coming off a win Friday against Kansas City and is beginning to resemble the dependable innings-eater the Orioles wanted when they signed him in January.
The offense has been inconsistent, and it was frustrated Tuesday by Esteban Loaiza, who improved his record to 7-1. The O's face Dan Wright, who is making just his second start of the season on Wednesday.
The club will be without manager Mike Hargrove, who is in Texas after the death of his mother, Rita Ann Hargrove. Bench coach Sam Perlozzo will manage the team in Hargrove's absence. Hargrove is expected to return Saturday.

Players to watch: Can Helling get the Orioles out of a losing streak? He needs another big outing after seven solid innings last Friday against Kansas City.
Quotable: "We always seem to get a hit or two in an inning with two outs against [Loaiza], but we couldn't get anything across. We can't win that way." -- Perlozzo on the team leaving runners on base.
