SEATTLE -- Right-hander Brett Tomko and the Seattle Mariners agreed Wednesday to a $1.1 million, one-year contract -- matching his salary this season.
Tomko, 28, began the year with the Mariners before being sent to Triple-A Tacoma on May 20. He rejoined the Mariners Sept. 14, and won the team's 114th game, which tied the American League record for wins.
Tomko started four games for Seattle and appeared in 11, going 3-1 with a 5.19 ERA. For Tacoma he was 10-6 with a 4.04 ERA, pitching a no-hitter July 3 at Oklahoma.
He was acquired from Cincinnati, along with Mike Cameron, Jake Meyer and Antonio Perez, for Ken Griffey Jr. in 2000. Tomko had been eligible for salary arbitration.
