Reliever Wilson Back With Royals
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Royals recalled right-hander Kris Wilson one day after sending him to the minors to replace righty Albie Lopez, who was put on the 15-day disabled list with a pulled right groin.
Wilson had not left Kansas City when he was called by Royals management after Friday's game against Toronto and told to remain in town.
He had been optioned to Omaha to make room for right-hander Jason Gilfillan, who made his major league debut Friday, giving up four runs and five hits in one inning.
Wilson was 0-0 with a 4.87 ERA in 10 games. He allowed 25 hits in 20 1/3 innings. He has struggled in May, allowing eight earned runs in 6 1/3 innings.
Lopez came out of Friday's ballgame after facing two batters in the eighth inning, who both scored. He had pitched a scoreless seventh.
