With Bere coming off the DL later this week, the question is who loses their spot in the roation for him. GM Shapiro says the are paying him to start, and start he will. C.C. is obviously going to start as he's their ace. Brian Anderson will start for the same reason as Bere. Ricardo Rodriguez, Jason Davis, and Jake Westbrook are the likely candidates, all have struggled and flourished at points this season.
Here's what I think will happen. Either Davis is sent to Buffalo, or, more likely, Westbrook moves back to the bullpen and Jason Boyd is sent down.
In Bere's last rehab start in Buffalo he pitched 7 innings, gave up three hits, no runs, and struck out 11.
