I voted for A-Rod, but I would pick Randy Johnson if you could pick someone in their prime. Having an ace of his magnitude in his prime would be a great asset!

Wow.... I'm surprised by the poll results. ARod is kicking butt..... and no one voted for Bonds. :umm
I voted for Sori..... (I always vote with my heart and not my brain... that's why I don't gamble :)
But there's something about the fact that ARod has never been on a winning team.... I think chemistry plays a big part in baseball. Some players put up awesome numbers but never play for a winnning team. There is a lot to say for the Derek Jeters and the Chipper Jones who don't have the best numbers but are leaders on the bench. :)

Chemistry is overrated. One of the most overrated things in sports, I think.
"Good team chemistry" is a result of a good team ... when was the last 62-100 team with great team chemistry? Can't really think of any ... always seems to be dissension amongst teams that can't win.
The 1919 Black Sox hated each other ... the great Oakland A's teams hated each other ... supposedly Bonds and Kent are despised by teammates and despise each other ... but none of those three teams had any difficulty winning, did they?
Teams can win without having great team chemistry ... but for some reason, no team can lose but have great team chemistry. Funny how that works. :umm
Pinstripes, I'd imagine players like Posada, Giambi, Soriano, Williams, Rivera, Stanton, Clemens, Mussina, Pettite, to name a few go along way with determining Jeter's leadership skills .. same for A. Jones, Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Lopez, etc. in Atlanta defining C. Jones' leadership capabilities ... but if one of the two were playing with guys, say, like Cox, Baldelli, Anderson, Huff, Vaughn, Kennedy, Brazelton, etc., would they still be considered great leaders? Doubtful.
As far as the question goes ... this topic's been discussed several times ... just go back and find the threads.
A-Rod. The guys in his prime, and therefore gets my vote. Perhaps Johnson a few years ago though.
