mo vaughn is aching to come back there, if duquette goes, and all this internal strife ends. if there continues to be friction you can kiss pedro goodbye and manny, who has already said he is sick of it, might demand a trade. everett is an A+ talent, but he is also a grade A jack**s! they should ship him out for a bag of peanuts if they have to, he is doing his part to ruin the team. if everett never suits up again i wouldn't care. do you think they could send everett to the angels for mo? that would really help the BoSox out.

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions, gang. The Sox are just cranking up the old PR machine in order to give Everett as much trade value as possible. They have to say he's a five tool guy. One, because he is. Two, because if they can't unload him, they want to soothe his emotions as much as possible.

Nobody in the organization is going to go out and say "We have to get this guy out of here. He is a piece of crap and is killing us both on and off the field". What GM in his right mind would offer the Sox anything more than some left-over hot dog buns for Everett after that type of rhetoric? Some might argue that would be enough, but the Sox need more than that or they may indeed be FORCED into holding onto Everett.

The Red Sox have to remind people in baseball that Everett has talent. Lots of it, in fact. They also have to give the appearance that he is indeed valuable to the Sox. If they present the contrary, although arguably accurate, view, they are dealing him from a position of weakness.

It's also important to remember that the Sox are still looking for a buyer. They can say all they want about "business as normal", but with the possibility that Duquette, Kerrigan and company could be shown the door with the advent of new ownership, Boston is kind of in limbo.

Mo Vaughn is trouble waiting to happen. When he was with the Sox, he couldn't wait to get out of there. And now he loves the place? What gives?

I think Mo always loved Boston. It's Duquette he can't stand. Mo's contract discussions turned ugly, as I recall. Mo charged DD with sending a PI after him, suggest the Boston GM "leaked" rumors about him, etc.... When Harrington didn't come out in support of his star, that pretty much sealed Mo's fate.
