I'm really sorry to see this happen. I don't think last season was a fluke for Li'l Sarge. I think he was just in a slump. (But the, what do I know.... :hmm: ) And I think he'll pick it up, and of course it'll be for San Diego. :( Bummer.
And bummer too that Big's on the DL! That sucks!!! :(

The Baltimore Orioles today announced that they have placed outfielder Larry Bigbie on the 15-day disabled list because of a right shoulder strain. Bigbie injured the shoulder diving for a ball in Wednesday's game at Anaheim. He will return to Baltimore today for an MRI and further evaluation.
The team recalled outfielder Luis Matos from Triple-A Ottawa to take Bigbie's place on the roster. Matos is batting .303 for Ottawa with 16 doubles, 4 triples, 1 home run and 25 RBIs. He leads the International League in doubles, is tied for third in triples, is second with 21 extra base hits and fourth with 28 runs scored.
Matos, who has hit .212 in 120 games over parts of the last three seasons with the Orioles, will join the team today in Texas.
In other roster moves, outfielder Gary Matthews Jr. has been claimed on waivers by the San Diego Padres.
Matthews hit .204 with 2 home runs and 20 RBI in 41 games for the Orioles this year. He was acquired in April 2002 from the New York Mets and hit a career-high .275 last year with 7 homers and 38 RBI in 111 games.
The Orioles will announce a replacement for Matthews' spot on the roster at a later time.
