.15 alcohol level blood count ... I believe what's considered to be illegal is .10. Mackowiak, from what I have read, made an illegal turn through a red light and started driving the wrong way. He was arrested 3:00 AM Friday and charged with two counts of DUI.

And amazingly, McClendon still used Mackowiak last night. Methinks a suspension should be coming ...

Doesn't THAT say something about the Mac Daddy? You'd think that McClatchy would have demanded some disciplinary action.

Mac is a hard-nosed, no nonsense kind of manager ... was very surprised to see Mac didn't reprimand Mackowiak on his own.

And using Mackowiak wasn't even vital ... the game went into extra innings, but Mackowiak was used earlier.

Definitely doesn't send a good message.

You would think McClatchey or Littlefield would demand action. This doesn't seem to happen as much in baseball as it does in football though. If he were in the NFL you can almost guarantee action would have been taken

McClatchey has said that a fine is forthcoming.

I guess I am hard nosed. I do not think a fine is enough. I would think a suspension should be in order. Granted, Rob doesn't make the huge bucks (though far more than we make) but I think a suspension sends a message to the players, the community, and especially kids, that this sort of action can not happen. I realize mistakes and poor judgment can happen, but with it come the consequences.

I agree, Ralph. A fine ... unless it is a very high fine ... isn't enough.

But we also don't know everything that happened ... maybe Mackowiak has agreed to other things (classes as an example) in lieu of a suspension.
