13-10, The Alien O's.

:D

Sparky is having quite a good time!!! He went 3 for 4, with 1 RBI, and scored twice. He had two doubles.

Mighty Mel Mora is on fire, going 5 for 5. :eek: Luis Matos is also hot! :eek: I just heard some guy on Baseball Tonight saying there should be a spot on the All Star Ballot for utility players. At any rate, Mighty Mel should be an all-star. :thumbsup;

Baltimore 13, Texas 10

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) _ Melvin Mora went 5-for-5, Jeff Conine drove in three runs and Luis Matos hit a two-run homer as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Texas Rangers 13-10 Sunday.

Mora, who equaled a career high with five RBIs on Saturday, had a career high in hits Sunday and also drove in two runs. He has seven straight multihit games.

Alex Rodriguez, Rafael Palmeiro, Carl Everett and Mark Teixeira homered for the Rangers, who have lost two straight following a seven-game winning streak. Texas leads the majors with 82 home runs.

But the power wasn't enough against the Orioles, who had a season-high 18 hits to finish their six-game road trip 4-2. Brian Roberts had three hits and scored twice, Tony Batista went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Jay Gibbons and Brook Fordyce added two hits apiece.

Matos hit his second homer of the year to cap a five-run first inning against Joaquin Benoit.

Texas scored five in the third to go up 7-6. Teixeira's first career grand slam was the big blow. Baltimore starter Rick Helling walked the bases loaded before Teixeira became the first Texas rookie to hit a slam since Mike Stanley on July 3, 1987.

Mora's RBI double tied it in the fourth and the Orioles went ahead 8-7 when Matos scored on a throwing error by Rodriguez at shortstop with two outs in the fifth.

The Orioles broke open a close game with three runs in the sixth on Conine's two-run double and Gibbons' RBI single. They extended their lead to 13-7 on Roberts' RBI triple and Mora's run-scoring double in the seventh.

Rodriguez and Palmeiro hit back-to-back shots in the bottom half off Travis Driskill. Rodriguez' 15th homer tied him with Toronto's Carlos Delgado and New York's Alfonso Soriano for the league lead. Palmeiro's blast was his 12th of the season and the 502nd of his career.

Michael Young followed with an RBI single to bring Texas within 13-10. The Rangers brought the tying run to the plate later in the seventh, but B.J. Ryan struck out Everett to end the threat.

Driskill (1-1) allowed three runs in 3 1-3 innings for the win. R.A. Dickey (3-2) gave up four runs _ three earned _ in two innings for the loss. Jorge Julio pitched the ninth for his 13th save.

Helling, who pitched for the Rangers from 1994-2001, made his first career apperance against his former club. He gave up seven runs, four hits and four walks in three innings.

Everett led off the third with his 14th home run.

Palmeiro, who had two-run double in the first, drove in three runs.

Benoit lasted just three innings, yielding six runs and five hits.< ^Notes:@ Mora reached base safely all six times and in eight straight plate appearances. ... Tony Batista was the last Baltimore player to have seven straight multi-hit games when he accomplished the feat Sept. 20-26, 2001. ... Texas 3B coach Steve Smith was ejected in the seventh inning for arguing with home plate umpire Tim Tschida. C Einar Diaz hit a slow roller down the 3B line which Smith felt Ryan touched before the ball went foul. Tschida ruled Ryan did not touch the ball and called it foul. ... Palmeiro is 4-of-12 lifetime against Helling with three HRs and nine RBIs. ... Young went 2-of-4 to extend his streak of multihit games to five.
