You gotta think he's going to be let go. Cuban's invested an awful lot in this team, for them to fail the way they have. Nelson did a good job bringing them to a very high level, but their going to need to try someone else as their coach. I think Houston would make a mistake by hiring him. He's not all that great with younger players.

I guess all the Mavs were old players TIGERS???? That is a comment not worth repeating. Don Nelson is a good coach and he is going to be staying with Dallas. Be it as a GM like he is now or as the coach. He is going to Maui for 2 weeks to think about it. Cuban has the best team of coaches around the Mavs. Nelson was not the only coach here. Look at the bench and you will see some really good coaches that used to coach NBA teams.
Really it makes no difference who coaches the Mavs next season, they need to deal for a PF or C. And I think from the talk here in Dallas that they are going to go hard after Brown. Maybe a sign and trade with LaFrentz. I would love to see Bradley go bye-bye. I have heard about Mourning also being interested in here, but he is past his better days. Malone would be a good one year guy to grab up, but I have not heard anything on where he wants to go.
I am just glad to have seen the Mavs do so well this season, Proud Mavs Fan Here!!!!!!!!!

i dont think that mavs are gonna let don nelson go because of the things he done with the team. he made this a title contender and nobody wants to break a team who is doing so well.
houston will most likely pick mike dunleavy or larry brown for the head coach vacancy.

Bottom line is that they did move on. Something that the Lakers couldn't do this year!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah I guess we underachieved holding teams to under 10 points 3 times I think in the playoffs. All that for a team with no defense RIGHT!!! Every team under achieves if they don't win the Championship. Isn't that right lal4l???
If Dirk was not hurt we could have made it. If any team without a hurt player could have had them there for all the games it would only have helped them. The what ifs are over, we are all sitting at home and waiting for next season.

I see them trading Finley next year and get a different play for their big 3.
