I AM ENRAGED. Eff Steinbrenner, whiming about the schedule. Funny, HE DIDN'T SAY SHIT LAST YEAR WHEN THE SOX HAD THE TOUGHEST SCHEDULE. AND BTW, THE SOX NL OPPONENTS HAVE WON 6 MORE GAMES THAN THE YANKS NL OPPONENTS.
OOH I HATE HIM! IF HE GETS LOFTON I'LL EXPLODE I SWEAR TO GOD!!

Yeah .. next week, the Yankees play the Mets 6 times while the Red Sox play the Phillies. Maybe the Red Sox GM will complain to show Steinbrenner how ridiculous he sounded.

NY Post showed its accuracy ... Thames was traded last night for Ruben Sierra. Thank goodness for that.

Amen to that. The Yankees don't have any players they would be willing to move that would help the Bucs IMO. Lofton is going great and should bring someone of value in about a month. The question then is, who plays CF?

As well as he is playing, the Bucs must consider offers for him. I think he was a great pickup, but we won't be able to keep him more than a year. At some point he will slow down some (he will still have a good year either way) and offers may lesson.. I agree NY is not the team, but we need to consider how to make us better next year. If he can be near .300 in August he would probably be worth a lot more for some team trying to buy a pennant. That is a big iff though. If we can get a hot prospect that is projected to break next year, I say to go for it and even let the prospect play now for the experiance.

Why the Pirates would bother giving him up I don't know. Even though he may be aging he's still got talent. Like the Yankees really need more talent.:sigh:

Welcome metsfan5432. The main reason is that the Bucs don't have much in the way of position player prospects who are close to the major leagues. And Lofton is signed for this year only. So most likely he will be with another team next year anyway and all Pittsburgh would have to show for it would be a 4th or 5th place finish. That's the business side of baseball.
