Yes, No game tonight. I was at Shea at 3:00PM, I punched in at about 4:30 when I got my assignment, and at about 5:00PM, they sent us home. At least I will get paid for 2 and 1 half hours after only being there for half an hour. Thank you to my union.

They'd just better be giving out the Franco bobblehead for the first game. That's the whole reason I'm going!

Rainout begets Sunday twinbill
Mariners (40-19) at Mets (27-32) (DH); 12:10 p.m. ET
By Kevin T. Czerwinski / MLB.com

NEW YORK -- The weather continued to wreak havoc with the Mets schedule Saturday with rain forcing the postponement of the scheduled game against Seattle. The game will be made up Sunday as part of a doubleheader beginning at 12:10.

Tickets for Saturday's game can be exchanged for any NY Mets home game (their face value will be applied), subject to availability, or refunded any time during this or next season. If they were issued complimentarily, they have no cash or exchange value, and those fans should be directed back to the person who issued them.

Tickets issued for Saturday's game are rain checks and cannot be used for entry into the doubleheader Sunday. However, they can be exchanged for a ticket to Sunday's games, subject to availability. Only tickets for June 8 (game 32) will be used for access to the rescheduled single-admission doubleheader. These tickets entitle the holder to see both games.

Saturday's game marked the third one New York has had rained out this week. Tuesday and Wednesday's games with Milwaukee were washed out, forcing a doubleheader on Thursday.

Al Leiter, who was slated to start Saturday, will go in the opener against Freddy Garcia while Mike Bacsik and Jamie Moyer will hook up in the nightcap. Leiter [6-2] will be looking to extend his personal winning streak to three games. The veteran southpaw, who has defeated the Phillies and the Braves in consecutive starts, is one of the few Mets who has experience against the Mariners. He is 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA in five career appearances against Seattle from his days with the Yankees and the Blue Jays.

While Leiter has been winning, he hasn't been particularly sharp. He's struggled with pitch counts and control, walking 16 batters in his last three starts. He'll need to be much sharper against patient Mariners hitters if the Mets are to take another game from the American League West leaders.

Bacsik, meanwhile, is hopeful that a strong outing will lead to bigger and better things. He struggled throughout Spring Training and during his first stint with the parent club this year. But with all the injuries to the Mets starting staff, a solid effort could lead to a permanent spot in the rotation.

Glavine close to decision: Tom Glavine said on Saturday that if he were writing a story about himself, he would say that he is "iffy" to make his next scheduled start. The bone spur in his elbow continues to cause him pain with certain movements, but he says his range of motion has improved.

"I'll probably have a better idea tomorrow [Sunday]," Glavine said. "I'll probably be a little more settled in my mind with what I'm going to do. But I'm not going to say anything until tomorrow. We'll see what the next 24 hours brings.

"Maybe I'm hoping for a miracle recovery or stupidity will get the best of me. I keep treating it and am spending a lot more time in the training room than I care to. Long term I'm not worried about it. I have one [a spur] that's been in my shoulder forever."

Glavine said that getting a cortisone shot would be a last resort. Manager Art Howe said that he would wait out the weekend before making a decision and that if there were anything at all there he would "bag him for his next start".

Pitching matchup:
GAME ONE
SEA: RHP Freddy Garcia 5-6, 5.50 in 2003 Has never faced NYM

NYM: LHP Al Leiter 2-2, 3.07 in 2003 Did not face SEA in 2002 2-1, 3.00 lifetime vs. SEA

GAME TWO
SEA: LHP Jamie Moyer 9-2, 3.21 in 2003 Did not face NYM in 2002 3-1, 3.02 lifetime vs. NYM

NYM: LHP Mike Bacsik 0-0, 27.00 in 2003 Did not face SEA in 2002 0-0, 11.00 lifetime vs. SEA

Players to watch: Few of the Mets have a history against Garcia. Roberto Alomar is 4-for-8 while Rey Sanchez is 3-for-5. Cliff Floyd has one hit in two at-bats against Garcia. … Sanchez is 5-for-16 against Moyer while Jay Bell is 4-for-12. … Tony Clark is 6-for-19 against Moyer with five walks.

Quotable: "The players that have come up [from the minors] have done a nice job for us. We have several more down there that are on the verge of helping us, too. We'll get the opportunity to probably see them later in the year unless we get back in this and make a run at it. There comes a point in time where the kids have to get an opportunity. But we're not at that point yet. We're still close to the Wild Card." -- Art Howe on the influx of younger players on his team

Well the season is lost unless the Mets can make some trades that will help the team now. I think this teamjust needs to rebuild and start right about now. Plan for the next 2 years. After this season is over keep only the players who are helping the team. Players like Wigginton, Burnitz who has seemd to have improved or Lloyd(those are just players right off the top of my head). Maybe Mr. GM can show us weather he will stay or go.
