That the Mets are really trying to trade Alomar (possibly the Reds) and Benitez (possibly the Red Sox)

I know some of these have been reported before but it sounds like there is a little more urgency now that it appears that the Mets are totally out of it:banghead

Gammons hasn't been right in years.

But I, for one, would LOVE to get rid of Alomar. Why allow that petulant malcontent to poison a child like Jose Reyes?

I'd love to see Benitez pitching for the Red Sox ...

Now -- while I'm sure he's not always "stable" in the head, there's no doubt that his stuff is lights out. His addition would serve as, perhaps, the final piece to the Red Sox puzzle (other than a capable 4th outfielder), for it would finally secure the bullpen and allow Kim to stay in the rotation.

Come on fellas, after 86' .. you owe us one ;)

Even the Sox wouldn't be that foolish. Benitez is a headcase. He would crumble at Fenway.
