I have no answers, Princess. You and I have many of the same questions, day in and day out. Trying to figure out what the hell the Sox are doing is like trying to solve a Rubik's cube with one hand.

I don't think he'll be the Sox manager in 2004.

Well, that will be too late.

He seriously, needs to be fired. I am stating this calmly. It is a fact.

He is beyond incompetent.

I don't think too many people will argue with that.

Any rumors in the Bostom media about Grady's future?

Pretty much, the media is like us. They figure he won't be back, but unless he falls far out of first, they probably won't fire him which is BS, because the only reason we're still in this thing is cuz our hitters have been INSANE, and the Yanks are struggling too.

Unfortunately, the Yankees will not struggle the whole year. They will straighten things out, and we'll fall 5-6 games out of first when that happens. It is inevitable.

Exactly. A competent manager would have US 6 games up right now.

We were walked 14 times last night.

Nomah and Manny were given IBB 6 times between them.

THAT'S MANAGING.

The game should have ended in the ninth. We had the bases loaded wit only one out. Nixon should have just slapped the ball into the out field and drove Nomah in. Any who, that was a horrific managing job, as usual. Giving Mueller the green light to hit on a 3-1 pitch was mind boggling. Also, if they're going to walk Pujols, might as well walk Edmonds. Cuz Rolens was after Edmonds and hes 0-6, w. 3 K's. Doesnt make any sense to me. I swear, when they brought out MenBLOWzah out, I knew it was over. :banghead

That's Tony LaRussa. He's not one of the best managers of all time for nothing.

Excellent point Bob. Giving Mueller the green light was nothing short of INSANITY.

I would love for Tony to run this show. It would be sweet. :D

Not to put too fine a point on it, but Tony did not manage very well in the 2000 playoffs. He had McGwire on the bench, but did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING with him.

Jules, I'm not saying LaRussa is God. I'm saying Uday Hussein could outmanage Grady.:(

I understand. I just didn't want you guys to think that the grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side.

knee problems he had. he was batting well below the mendoza line, so of course he was sitting.

everyone knew that he shouldnt be playing.

an aside about mueller? its not so much that a 3-1 green light is bad. its just that it should be a conditional green light. swing if it looks good, dont swing if it doesnt.

i mean, if its right down the pipe, i see no problem swinging. how bad was the pitch that he swung on?

PissedPrincess

It was bad Ray. The point was, Yan had just walked 2 guys. He was all over the place. To swing was ABSURD.

ohhhhh. now that it is in context, yah it is a bit absurd when yan was all over the place.

actually a lot absurd.

Mac was sitting, but he wasn't on the DL. They kept him as a right-handed bat off the bench.

It made no sense. Tony never brought him in a game, but he didn't take him off the post-season roster. What's the point?
