The kid has good instincts and a shitload of potential. He's just not ready to be a major league player today. He needs more tweaking and maturing.

If he is showing signs of success and this season is a waste anyways, why not tweak him and let him learn at the major league level??
Gives 4 months to work on his game at this level....Would love to see him totally ready to be our starting SS for the whole season next season...

I agree with you James. It's not like we're competing for a playoff spot. Trade Alomar and Sanchez (if possible), and let Jose and Danny take over.

James, check out this article: http://www.nj.com/mets/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/105574545565580.xml
Here's a part I think you'll find particularly interesting: There have been some in the organization who believe the Mets should just release Sanchez, who was signed by Phillips for $1.3 million in the off-season. Reyes brings excitement to the game, has yet to allow a ball get through on the left side of the infield and has far better range than the sullen Sanchez, who is hitting only .225.

Like James, said let him learn at this level. Yesterday he showed his disipline by hitting a grand slam(after about 8 pitches) and the next 2 AB's going for singels up the middel. He could have decided to go nuts and go for about 2 more homers and ground out instead he decided to go for the little hit when it was needed.

I agree.
(and the slam was on the 11th pitch!)
