That was Williams 4th blown save this year. Once again Kip Wells pitches well and doesn't get spit for it. 8 innings, 2 ER, 2BB, 6K. Bet he can't wait for free agency.

I hate the thought of losing him. I think we should try and lock up Kip to a decent contract and cut our ties with Benson. Wells has many more upsides right now.

He isn't going to sign with the Bucs. Why would he want to play for some shatty team that can't hold a lead?

We're all kind of frustrated with Benson but let's not forget that he's just a year removed from Tommy John surgery. I think he needs another year or two. Otherwise, he'll pull a Jason Schmidt and lead the league in ERA, have 8 wins etc.

The only way I would trade Benson is if a team would absolutely "knock the Pirates socks off" with an offer. I also believe that he can still be a very successful pitcher.
