As I am sure most of you know, Comerica Park has a rather large playing field. It's hard for anybody to consistently hit a ball out of the place. This has led to complaints from the Tigers and opponents about the ballpark's dimensions. Many just don't think it's fair to hit a ball as hard as you can and watch it be a fly out. As such, there are a number of people who think the fences should be moved in. I'm wondering if any of you have an opinion on this?

Personally, I'd leave the walls right where they are at. It seems more like old-time baseball (not the arena-baseball of today) and would seem to provide a potential home field advantage. However, I've just gotten tired of all the whining and have relegated myself to the fact the dimensions are going to change.

It was announced last week that the dimension at Comerica Park would remain the same for 2002. No definitive reason was given, but I think that does nothing but help the Tigers pitching staff.

I agree, leave the dimensions as they are and modify the other "hitters" parks so a MLB can't hit a HR on a check swing:hmm:
I don't like the way that the fields are smaller....
Bring back Crosley, the Polo Grounds and Forbes Field:biggrin:

As a fan of pitching and defense, I like that the folks in Detroit have remained sane.
