1-1 in the 8th and both Moose and Pedro are as advertised!!!
Moose has set down 21 straight and has a 2 hitter going while Pedro has given up only 5 hits.....
Very entertaining thus far... 19 total K's in the game...
Jets and Sori went down early with injuries to the hand.....

NEW YORK (AP) -- New York Yankees stars Derek Jeter and Alfonso Soriano left Monday's game against the Boston Red Sox after hurting their hands on high-and-tight pitches from Pedro Martinez.
Jeter and Soriano headed to the hospital for X-rays.
Soriano, New York's leadoff hitter and All-Star second baseman, injured his left hand on a pitch from Martinez in the first inning. The ball appeared to glance off Soriano's hand and the knob of his bat, resulting in a foul ball.
Soriano remained in the game and struck out. Jeter, the next batter, was hit on the right hand by Martinez's high fastball on a 1-2 pitch, drawing boos from the crowd.
Jeter immediately yanked his hand away in pain. He bent over as he was attended to by a trainer and manager Joe Torre, but stayed in the game until the third.
Their departures left the Yankees with a makeshift infield for the finale of the four-game series against their longtime rivals.
Enrique Wilson replaced Soriano at second in the top of the second inning, then moved to shortstop when Jeter came out to start the third. Robin Ventura moved from third base to second, and Todd Zeile entered at third.
Soriano, named a starter for the AL All-Stars on Sunday, came into the game batting .300 with 22 homers and 51 RBIs.
Jeter, who missed six weeks after dislocating his left shoulder opening day, is hitting .297 with five homers and 20 RBIs.

Take that Pedro you slimy little Bastard!!!!!! Go ahead and take Jeter and Sori out in the first inning and see what it gets you????? We still won:eviltongu :eviltongu even with Robin playing 2nd....I just knew when they had Zeile come in to play third that Robin had to be at 2nd!!!!
It was a very good game...hell of a pitchers duel!!!
Thanks for the injury update James, I was just going hunting for it and now I don't have to!:luvkiss:

PEDRO didn't hit Soriano, he hit himself!
Secondly, he hit Jeter to make up for Clemens hitting Millar.
Hey, you won, but don't call Pedro a slime for sticking up for his teammates, unless you call Clemens a slime for the same thing.
Funny, it's always okay for Clemens to hit guys, but it's a crime when someone else does.:hmm:
If Jeter doesn't like getting hit, he ought to tell Clemens to stop hitting guys first.
I am so NOT ever defending a Yankee again.

Hey Jac, I have never defended Clemens and you know it. But come on...2 of the best players get hit...Sori may have gotten himself..i really couldn't tell, honestly, and out of the game?????
I personally never liked Pedro and not cuz he's a Red Sox...you know me better than that, I just don't like him or his attitude...remember last year when he said that he didn't want to play his last game cuz they weren't in contention??? Yeah, real good team mate. Anyway...Moose didn't end up throwing at any of the red Sox did he?? This is why I firmly believe the DH should be taken out of the game...if pitchers are gonna hit batters...whether it be Clemens hitting someone or Pedro or anyone else...they should have to stand in that batter's box and take thir medicine!
The thing is with me...I'm not as vocal when I don't like someone on another team...only when I don't like someone on my own.......NIGHTMARE BOY...god I hope the rookie pitches great in Toronto!! So no one ever knows who i don't like.
Sorry if I upset you Jac...i truely didn't mean too.

Soriano swung and hit himself with the foul ball. Frankly, neither should have been taken out of the game. They were just being over-cautious.
I hate Clemens, but I like that he's not afraid to pitch inside. I like Pedro because he feels the same way.
Offensive stats are WAAAAAAAY out of whack, and it's because there's not enough Pedro's and Clemen's out there. We need MORE guys like them, not less.

Didn't mean to yell at you kel. I am one of the few people who like Clemens' style, cuz he likes Pedro. I was sad you didn't understand.
God almighty we choked.

No problem Jac...it's not his style I don't like...I'm not really sure why I don't like the guy...I just don't!:notme:

Amazing we won that game with our F-team in there :D
As for Sori and Jetes, that's the price we pay for Rocket :ugh:.
But even if those pitches by Pedro were in retaliation for Clemens hitting Millar, I have a feeling there will be a couple Red Sox on thier asses the next time we play them. Moose is too much of a gentleman to retaliate, but if Boomer or Clemens pitch...:2guns:
