Padres announce 2002 Spring Training schedule

With pitchers and catchers reporting to Peoria, AZ February 15, and the full squad scheduled to report February 20, the Padres today announced their complete 2002 Spring Training schedule.
The Padres begin their spring slate with a pair of charity games February 27 vs. the Anaheim Angels at Tempe Diablo Stadium and February 28 with their Peoria Sports Complex partners, the Seattle Mariners. The Padres make their second trip in as many spring seasons to Mexico for a March 17 game in Hermosillo, Sonora against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The schedule also includes the club's return to its long-time spring home in Yuma, AZ for the fifth consecutive year for a March 24 game against the N.L West-rival D-Backs.
Tickets for all 14 Padres home games played in Peoria will be available by calling (619) 220-TIXS, at Ticketmaster.com and at all Ticketmaster outlets beginning January 12. They will be available at the Padres' Qualcomm Stadium ticket office during regular business hours beginning January 14. An on-sale date for Yuma tickets will be announced at a later date.
