Found this at TSN:

The Tigers are receiving inquiries about Jeremy Bonderman and Mike Maroth, but Bonderman could be their future ace and one executive says it would be foolish to trade Maroth, given the difficulty that teams face in developing quality lefthanded pitching.

The emergences of lefthander Wil Ledezma and Class AA lefthander Rob Henkel, however, could lead the Tigers to consider trading Maroth for a young hitter. Ledezma and fellow Rule V draft pick Matt Roney are now in the rotation, and the team's third Rule V selection, reliever Chris Spurling, ranks second on the club in appearances.

"It's the best year I've seen for Rule V draft picks in a long time," says a scout, citing the Tigers' Rule V picks, Blue Jays righthander Aquilino Lopez and Royals righthander D.J. Carrasco. "Those are five guys that I would think most teams would like to have." . . .

I agree, they need to take this small amount of sucessful players and run with it. These 2 will be the cornerstones of this team for many years.

I'm all for trading Maroth as long as we can get a quality position prospect in return. We have some pitching depth, but as far as position players we are SOL throughout the system.

yuo never know they could be great next year. and if they go to a good team they might start playing better.

but if they do make a trade with these players, they should trade it to either expos (great prospects) or another team with great prospects.

Other teams are inquiring about Bonderman, Dombrowski isn't shopping him. I cannot imagine the type of deal that would be on the table to get Dombrowski to even ponder trading his prize rookie.

Maroth, however, is probably available. I'm with Gerg here. I like the guy, but it all depends on what the Tigers can get in exchange.

Gene Guidi wrote that several teams are interested in several Tiger hurlers. Although, the Freep writer suspected they would be traded after the season, not before the deadline. Maybe we will get a few new players before August 1.
