PHILADELPHIA -- The boys are back in town.

The fun-loving bunch that captured the 1993 NL Championship has returned to Philadelphia for the 10th anniversary celebration of that unforgettable season.

The Field of Memories season at Veterans Stadium continues as the Phillies honor their last team to reach the postseason. The team drew 3,137,674 fans in '93, setting the season attendance record for the Vet.

The Phillies have festivities planned for the final two games against third-place Montreal. The Expos are four games behind Philadelphia in the NL East as play resumes after the All-Star break.

The Phillies went from last place in 1992 to a World Series appearance the following season, led by Lenny Dykstra, Darren Daulton and John Kruk. Dykstra, the team's leadoff hitter and offensive catalyst, led the NL in hits (194), runs (143), walks (129) and at-bats (637) in '93. He also posted career bests in home runs, doubles, RBIs and stolen bases. Daulton and Kruk were members of the All-Star team, while Dykstra was voted runner-up for the NL MVP.

Members of the '93 NL Championship team, including manager Jim Fregosi, Mariano Duncan, Tommy Greene, Dave Hollins and Dykstra, will greet fans from 6:00 to 6:15 as they enter the Vet before Saturday's 7:05 p.m. ET game.

The Alumni Batting Challenge, scheduled for 6:20, will feature a team of Daulton, Pete Incaviglia and Danny Jackson taking on a trio of Kruk, Jim Eisenreich and Milt Thompson.

All fans 15 and over attending Sunday's 1:45 p.m. ET game will receive a DVD or VHS, courtesy of Toyota. The video, "High Hopes, The Story of the 1993 Phillies," is narrated by Kruk and Larry Andersen.

A video tribute on PhanaVision and an introduction of members of the '93 team along with the current starting lineup will precede Sunday's game.

Some of the players from the '93 squad didn't have to travel far for the reunion. In fact, many of them are tied to the Phillies in some way. Larry Bowa, a coach on the '93 club, returned to become the team's manager after stints with the Angels and Mariners, while John Vukovich has remained a coach for the Phillies over the past decade.

Andersen and Kruk are members of the Phillies broadcast team, and former outfielder Ruben Amaro Jr. is the team's assistant general manager.

Todd Pratt, who was in his second big-league season in '93, is the only member of the group who is also still a player on the current roster.

Also slated to appear are: outfielder Wes Chamberlain, pitcher Tyler Green, first baseman Ricky Jordan, second baseman Mickey Morandini, coach Johnny Podres, shortstop Kevin Stocker and closer Mitch Williams.

Two important pitchers from the '93 staff, Curt Schilling and Terry Mulholland, are still pitching and won't be able to attend the reunion. Schilling, who earned the NL Championship Series MVP as the Phillies beat the Braves in six games, is a member of the Diamondbacks. Mulholland, an All-Star in '93, now plays for the Indians. Bob Gordon, co-author of "More than Beards, Bellies and Biceps: The Story of the 1993 Phillies and the Phillie Phanatic Too," will sign books at the 200 level newsstand on Saturday and Sunday.
