Cards ink Izzy

The Cardinals signed closer Jason Isringhausen to a four year, $27 million contract, beating out the Texas Rangers and Tom Hicks' Texas-sized wallet. Izzy said that it did not come down to dollars in the end, but his family (located in nearby Brighton, IL) really wanted him to be close after stints in Oakland and New York. Isringhausen fills the gap that was a gaping chink in the Cardinals armor last season, and allows Steve Kline to move into his more effective role as a setup man/lefty specialist.

So you being a Cards fan, what do you think of this pick-up??
I personally am a big Izzy fan and think he will be a GREAT addition to your team.....

thanks. i like izzy, and i believe he will be a great addition. i must confess i am a little disappointed. :angry:
i REALLY wanted to get percival or koch. but i am very happy with izzy, he will be a HUGE improvement in the closer role

My opinion is that Percival is the best of the bunch..But, he is also 31 and the other 2 are are only in their mid-20's...Though 31 for a closer is not old at all....
I see Izzy and Koch pretty much on the same level...The one thing I like about Izzy over Koch is the fact that Izzy's #'s have been getting better the last few years as Koch's have gotten worse.....That is the only difference I see in the 2 but that can change at any time...Izzy is with the better team.....
