I still hold hope, but Weaver's inconsistancy irritates the heck out of me . Just when I thought he turned it around :sigh:
The Boston game is gonna suck. Weaver just sucks against the Red Sox and has sucked against them his entire career. But changing the rotation just because a pitcher doesn't matchup well against another team may do more harm than help. If Contreras isn't ready (what the hell is going on with him anyway?) then we'd be throwing Claussen into the fire, and I dunno about that

I think Claussen would handle it better cuz the kid doesn't seem to get nervious...anyway, with tonight's game cancelled due to rain and I'll tell ya it's freakin raining here...maybe this will change the rotation enough to keep Nightmare out of the Boston serious!

yeah, Clauseen does seem fearless
Thanks for telling me it was rained out...i was sitting here waiting for Gameday to start... :brick: :D

Pouring..thunder and lightening...nasty here and the radar looks the same all across the state!!!
I believe it's supposed to be just as nasty tomorrow...I'll hop on if the games cancelled and let you know kiddo!
I would have no worries about Claussen pitching against Boston. Weaver has already proved that he can't handle it, so hand it over to someone else, anyone. It might as well be Claussen.

Well with last night raining out and tonight has that possibility too, atleast Nightmare will miss Boston....christ I've never been so happy to have games rained out before!!!

You guys should read Joe Queenan's piece in last Sunday's Times. It's about how annoying it is for non-Yankee fans to have to hear Yankee fans whine about how bad their lot in life is when they've won a full 1/4 of all the World Series trophies available.
To paraphrase him, he says no Yankee fan can call himself a die-hard because no Yankee fan has ever had to die for his team.
I'm not trying to be snarky (honest!) -- I'm saying it's a very interesting article with a Phillies' fan's take on the world. He hates the Mets too, but he understands what makes us tick. He cannot, however, understand Yankee fans.

Excuse me but I am not whinning. I have stated since the very day that we got Weaver that it was a bad trade and the guy was gonna be no good. I am positive that if any other team and their fans had to deal with Weaver and how much he sucks they'd be b**ching about him too.
Anyway, this is the Yankee forum and if we want to b**ch about somebody or some game this is where we're supposed to do it.

I agree that Yankees fans are the most spoiled fans in baseball. They expect perfection out of everyone, but that can be good as well as bad.
The passion that comes with the "must win every game" attitude is good, but in a situation like Weaver's, it may be bad. Ever wonder why we've never developed a solid pitcher since Pettitte? It may be because we run struggling players out of town because we don't want to put up with the growing pains that all young players go through.
Whether Weaver will become an Ace or whether he'll fail miserably, I don't know. But if we trade away a young pitcher with a huge upside for some veteran reliever or another short-term solution, i think we'll end up regretting it in the end. If Weaver goes to an organization with patience to help him develop, he may come back and bite us in the ass.
We have a NUMBER FIVE starter, only 26 years old, with a huge upside. Yeah he's struggled, but other organizations would LOVE to be in that situation.
We're pretty damn lucky.
But back to the topic. Any fan can complain about thier team when they feel its appropriate. On days when it seems like no one gives a damn, can you blame us for b*tching?

i think i'd rather have weaver over our number 5 starter estes.... though its close.

Sorry Milky..we always have this debate don't we:D but having a 26 year old starter who can't at least win half of his games really is of no use to us. We have 2 good potential #5 starters in Conteras (when he gets healthy again) and Claussen. I would feel a whole lot better having Claussen on the mound in a must win game than Weaver. Which is pretty said being that I'd rather see a rookie on the mound but when that rookie can cointrol his emotions and keep his mind in the game instead of having a little tanteum everytime something doesn't go his way. Sorry..just my opinion. We've given Weaver plenty of chances to prove himself a starter and he really hasn't proved he could be one. Earler you were mad at Andy for being inconsistant and wanted him in the bullpen, remember? My belief is that Weaver shouldn't even go to the bullpen he should just be traded and cut our losses.
OK I'm done...still love ya kiddo, just don't agree with you on the Weaver thingBTw good points you made about us b**ching here...hell it's our home..if we want to b88ch this is the place to do it!
