God I can not stand the way he acts!!! He acts like a little 2 year old that throws a temper tantrum when he doesn't get his own way!!! Yeah, it sucks to have your lead blown or tied but don't throw a fit on the bench because of it. If you can't control yourself sitting on the bench..atleast go into the clubhouse to have your tantrum! Christ it's embarrassing! You don't see Rocket, Andy, Moose or Bommer have a tantrum because their lead was blown. If anybody had a right to through a fit when his lead was blown it would have been Rocket when they blew the lead on hi #300 attempts but he didn't..he acted like an adult and not a child.
Anyway, Nightmare will probably get his butt handed to him in his next start...that's how his record is..pitch one good game..get slaughtered the next. We truely need more consistancy if we're even gonna think about beating Boston or even getting to the playoffs this year! We definately need to improve the bullpen or something! Maybe we should fine the pitchers in there $10,000 every time they blow a lead or give up a HR...hit them where it hurts!
OK, I will now go over to the Sox forum and collect my new sig from Jac since we couldn't win this series!
HAMMOND SUCKS!
What happened to the guy who only gave up 1 HR in 75 innings last year? He gave up 2 last night without getting an out! Benitez is starting to suck as well.
Nightmare boy, nice performance. More of the same please.:clap2:
:um:
Have I chartered into the wrong territory? I agree with you, Kel, on Weaver. Pedro got no decision on 6 difference occasions when he left with the lead. 6!!! Yet he still has confident in our pen. In order to be a Big League Pitcher, you have to act like a Big League Pitcher. :D

eh, he threw a tantrum. he isnt the first, nor the last to throw a bit of a tantrum after getting their leads blown.
i dont find it embarassing when its in the dugout. granted, he should be able to control his emotions better, but some people are emotionally overwrought and need a beer or three.
he'll learn. he's young and young pitchers have trouble controlling their emotions. the difference between the other 4 is the years of experience they have acquired.
he will be good if he gets control of his emotions.
i only take issue when he throws tantrums on the mound. thats where it is a problem.

well i think the one reason yankees went to get benitez was to prevent the red sox from getting him. which was also with lieber and contrerez. and what happened to them?:rotf:

Yeah but Ray, he's been here for 2 seasons now and hasn't shown that he's matured at all...you would think he'd learn something by now. We'll never make it to the playoffs with this guy in the starting rotation. And I'm not real comfortable waiting for 4 years for him to grow up!

hmmmm. maybe if you paid attention blue, you would know that lieber wasnt signed to pitch this year. he was signed to be a starter next year when recovered from his surgery. :hmm:
and yah you would think he would learn, but maybe it takes time to desanitize from the detroit experience
sometimes all it takes is someone to take him under wing and mentor him for a bit. its worked for other pitchers. maybe thats what he needs.

Yeah, but he started out okay for us, there was a glimmer of hope he might be useful. Wishful thinking, eh?:D
