This is kind of funny, as on the radio all week I heard how much people miss the old place and HATE the new one. Part of that is, of course, the crappy team, but the stadium has so many design flaws that's it's hard to imagine anyone liking it as much as Caple did, Besdies, the stadium's debt weighs on this team's finances so heavily, that it's hard for us old timers to embrace it.
I think it's ok, but rather antiseptic (sp?). It's just seem sterile. Less than Ford Field, as Caple points out, but still sterile.

I think Comerica Park is beautiful. I love all the statues and the tribute to the history of the Tigers and everything. Just beautiful

When I go to a baseball game I want to go to a baseball game, not a circus.

Commerica Park is a beautiful park and far from a circus like atmosphere....
I love the statues they have in the OF area there:thumbsup:

I think more people who aren't Tiger fans like it more than those who are. If this was an average/good ball club, a lot more people around here would love it. I personally love most of it, they just try way too hard to appeal to little kids, which even most little kids don't like. But all in all it's a great park IMO.

I think alot of Tiger fans don't like it because they know what it cost to build it. Plus they know paying for the ballpark is taking money away from putting a good product on the field. Plus there is alot of pain seeing the old Tiger stadium rotting away doing nothing. Since they have a new ballpark they need to tear Tiger stadium down. The sooner the better,so the healing can begin knowing that it is gone.

They can't tear it down! Too much of my heart is there for them to just tear it down like a worthless piece of crap! Think of everything that's gone on there! That TY COBB himself, actually walked that field! *sigh* too many memories, too much history, too many hopes and dreams lay with in those walls of Tiger Stadium to tear it down

Yeah leave it up. It'll blend in with all the other vacant, unused buildings in Detroit that are just sitting there rotting.

Jen, it apparently Mr. Ilitch didn't view the place as all that special. He or the city could have saved it. However, it's gone and we can't get it back. It's sad, but the place has to be torn down. reprap is 100% correct.
Although, I do agree that the old place is doing something. It's breaking the hearts of Tiger and baseball fans throughout the world.
