I'd like to get a little q & a going to see who got the best deadline deals this year? To be honest, I can't understand the Yankees.
I thought the Yankees were a little bit short from the right side of the plate after they traded Mondesi, and Boone is certainly an upgrade over Robin Ventura [who was traded Thursday to Los Angeles for two minor leaguers.] So New York had to improve the team. The big question, however, is at what cost. I think Claussen will be a top-flight major league pitcher. He was the Yankees' best pitching prospect since Andy Pettitte, and as we know, New York's starting staff is not getting any younger.
The bo-sox have seemed to bolster up their pitching staff with Suppan and strengthened their pen. With the addition of Suppan I imagine Mendoza will be back in the pen.
I really don't think giving up Ponson will hurt the Orioles that much after getting Ainsworth and Moss.
And I think the Reds staff could be improving with the addition od Harang and Claussen.
I'd like to get some opinions.
