2004 sales campaign for Citizens Bank Park begins

The Phillies announced plans for their 2004 Citizens Bank Park sales campaign with the start of the seat assignment process for existing season ticket holders. The 43,500-seat world-class ballpark will open next April.

"We're extremely excited to begin the seat assignment process for our season ticket holders," said Richard Deats, Vice President, Ticket Operations. "This marks a significant milestone of the transition into our new home."

All season ticket holders will receive an extensive seat assignment guide and questionnaire outlining the various seating options in Citizens Bank Park. "The questionnaire is designed to receive the maximum amount of feedback possible from our fans," Deats explained. "We'll pay detailed attention to each fan's feedback and assign their seating based on their preferences as best as possible."

Both the guide and questionnaire will arrive via mail by early August.

All existing full season customers will have their seats assigned first, followed by existing partial season customers. "We feel it is appropriate to assign seats based on the type of plan our fans currently hold and the amount of years they've been a loyal season ticket holder," said Deats.

The Phillies will continue to offer a wide variety of season ticket plans, including a full season plan, 17-game partial plans and the popular 13-game Sunday plan. "Our entire fan base will have a variety of options to choose in all areas of the ballpark," added Deats. "Both full and partial plans will be offered throughout all levels." Seating levels in the ballpark include the Field Level, Club Level (encompassing Arcade & Pavilion Seating) and Terrace Level.

The range of prices in the general seating bowl is $40, $35, $25, $20, $18 and $15. Over 20,000 seats are priced at $20 or lower, and more than 25,000 seats are priced $25 and under.

There will be no personal seat licenses and no variable pricing by opponents or day-of-the-week. Up to 5,000 seats per game, if unsold in advance, will be further discounted for day-of-game sales ($18 reduced to $14, $15 reduced to $10).

Because of the intimacy of the entire seating bowl, seats in Citizens Bank Park are both lower and closer to the playing field than seats in Veterans Stadium. "Citizens Bank Park can easily fit inside Veterans Stadium," said Deats. "It will be a whole new experience for our fans as they will be right on top of the action."

Field Level outfield seating is priced at $20 and is expected to become extremely popular. "We expect that entire area to be a destination point with Ashburn Alley, Bull's BBQ, the bullpen viewing areas, Memory Lane and the Scoreboard Restaurant just steps away," added Deats.

Existing full-season customers will also receive an invitation to visit the Citizens Bank Park Preview Center and learn about club seating. "We have several club seat options we want our fans to see first-hand," added Deats. "They'll get an opportunity to do that by accepting our invitation and seeing how distinctive our club seats will be."

"Our primary goal through early fall will be to focus on our existing season ticket holders," Deats said. "Once that process is complete, we'll begin selling new season ticket plans to the public."
