I'm looking for owners for my SportsBrew league.
If you're interested let me know and I'll give you details. Starts in a few weeks.

It's a fantasy sports league, but instead of drafting players each owner picks teams (no draft, you could have the same team as others in some cases).
It includes 10 sports, but you pick the 7 you want to pick 4 teams from so you go with your strengths (this is configurable but it's the default so I left it...but I can change it too).
The first sport is college football so it starts before the first game. If one of your sports is NBA basketball you have until the first game to pick your four teams for that (2 from each conference).
I think it sounds fun and it's free to try until December.
the league id is 230, and the password is "afs" (for AddictFantasySports - might be upper case)
I can e-mail an invite if that's easier. I called the league SportsAddicts.
I look forward to a little friendly competition!

sounds like a really interesting concept, I'm not sure about all the rules, I signed up, you pick 4 teams for each of the 7 sports and you just have to win the most games to get the most points?

ok, but you can only set your teams at the beginning of each season, you can't change them throughout?

You don't change your teams after the season starts, that's true.
In that way it's a bit of a prediction game I guess, but the good part is that there's no daily lineup changes required. Not that that would be a problem, but I'm in a lot of other leagues already so my time's a bit tight as is.
Also, there are two ways to get points from what I read.
1) you get points for a win, so picking the 4 winningest teams will help a lot in each sport (Keep in mind last year the Lakers, Rams, and Red Wings all went know where fast so there are no sure things!)
2) you get bonus points for picking sport champions and runners up
There are enough sports there that I don't know a lot about all of them. I suppose anyone with a LOT of sports knowledge would have a distinct edge but we'll have to see how badly I get beaten.
I'm hoping that this will help me gain a little knowledge where I'm lacking (Nascar, pga, ncaa sports) and have some fun too.
good luck!
oh, and we could still use about 5 or 6 more at least so anyone else want to join in the frey?

In case I didn't answer that right, Wins don't get you anything, it's points and each win is worth a different point value based on the sport.
For example, football wins are worth more because they play fewer games. Baseball wins are worth less because they play more games. Pretty simple.
The bottom line is win % is what will win.

Looks like the site is free now! Originally it was the first few months are free.
We still need a few more owners.
league id 230
pword afs (may be upper case, I forget)
Also, in case you care, they have different league options available now too that sound pretty cool.
