Jen I wrote you this poem to say Im glad to call you friend
Wherever the road life leads you down such as the current bend
Your smiles like a long fly ball that never hits the ground
the complexity of things you say never ceases to confound
don't worry about the future it will take care of its own
I'm glad to have been around to see how very much you've grown
dealing with me can be such a lonesome bore,
but I must say you're the nicest girl I've ever met before
soon the evil sprite will knock who goes by the name of Love
do you see the golden sun that shines so close above?
its time to put the past away and dispose of empty fears
grab the passing cat of life by his dusty faded ears
so I guess ill end this here and say goodbye for now
let all that holds you back right now sit down and take a bow
