Lefty Cook lands in Anaheim

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Dennis Cook, a reliever who split last season between the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies, agreed with the Anaheim Angels on a $1.25 million, one-year contract Wednesday.
Cook, 39, was 1-1 with a 4.25 ERA in 43 games for the Mets. The left-hander was 0-0 with a 5.59 ERA in 9 1-3 innings after being traded to the Phillies on July 27.
Cook was on the disabled list for the first time in his career from July 30-Aug. 14 for personal reasons.
He has played for eight major league teams and appeared in the World Series in 1997 and 2000. He is 2-0 and has not allowed a run in 16 1-3 innings during 19 postseason appearances.
Taken by the San Francisco Giants in the 18th round of the 1985 draft, Cook is 63-45 with nine saves and a 3.93 ERA in the major leagues.
