LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers and KFWB 980 AM (Infinity Broadcasting) announced today they have reached an agreement on a five-year radio broadcasting contract that begins in 2003, according to Dodgers Senior Vice President, Communications Derrick Hall.

"We are extremely excited about this announcement," said Hall. "KFWB has a tremendous reputation and has been a legendary source of news and information in this city for 35 years. Vin, Ross and Rick are looking forward to being a part of this top-notch station beginning in 2003."

"The Dodgers brand is one of the most prestigious in all of professional sports," said KFWB Vice President and General Manager Roger Nadel. "KFWB is honored to be the next flagship radio station for this outstanding organization. All of us at Infinity Broadcasting are thrilled to create this new partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers."

Infinity Radio stations serve as flagships for 21 professional sports teams, including five other Major League baseball clubs. For 35 years, KFWB has been Los Angeles and Orange County's all-news radio station. More than a million people each week rely on KFWB for the latest news and information, as well as for key community service programming such as our weekly "Ask The Governor" broadcast with California Governor Gray Davis and monthly broadcasts of "Ask The Mayor" (with James Hahn), "Ask The Chief" (with LAPD Chief Bernard Parks), and "Ask The Schools Chief" (featuring LAUSD Superintendent Roy Romer).

The Dodgers have enjoyed long-term relationships of 13 years and 23 years with KFI Radio (1960-73) and KABC Radio (1974-97) since moving to Los Angeles in 1958.

Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully, along with partners Ross Porter and Rick Monday, will continue to call all the Dodger action. The entire 162 regular season game schedule will be broadcast live by KFWB. The station will also continue to air the Dodgers' pregame and postgame shows.

"Broadcasting Dodger games on radio has always served as a wonderful vehicle to communicate one-on-one with our fans," said Scully. "I am excited to hear that KFWB will be our flagship and personally look forward to calling the action on 980 beginning in 2003."
