October 12th: LOSS.
Don't be so hard on the Steelers, Dan... there's a chance, albeit very small, that they could squeak out a win.

wait a minute, the Broncos sold their stadium name too, what is this world coming too?
Uhhh...this is their 3rd season at Invesco Field. They not only sold the naming rights, they built a new stadium. This world is turning into a capitalist society, all started by that capitalist pig Wrigley.

I've been pissed since they re-named it Mile Hi from Bears Stadium, so I don't really care what they call it now. It's still better than the FU Center (which is now the Wachovia something or other...)

Yeah they sold their stadium name last year, although the press continued to call it "The new mile high". What does everyone think of their chances this year? They are stacked at offense like usual, hopefully Plummer can be more successful than Griese was the last two seasons.

Too bad the Bronco's aren't playing the Phins again. I'd love to see another Phins victory in the LAST 11 SECONDS! :clap2: :nut:

Haha! That was a good game, though - all I remember is some Dolphin running a Griese pass back about 800 yards for a TD (Surtain?)... maybe Griese will cough one up for the Broncs if they meet in the playoffs? :D

Piazza'sbabe

That was an amazing game! :clap2: Though we lost a lot of players to injury in that game (Fiedler, Chambers, Gasden...). All I remember is the 56 yard FG Mare kicked in the last 11 seconds.
Last night against the Ravens he tried a 61 yard kick....
No good. He's not THAT lucky ;) I even said "what does he think? This is the Bronco's game?"
Griese did play last night, hurt his toe :hmm: Here we go again...If he can lay off the sauce and stay injury free.....Though he did look sharpe.

Did anyone see the game last night on CBS? Tell me that the Dolphins D isn't the ugliest pack of mo-fu's you ever saw? Seau was like a BEAST and team him with Thomas and Taylor!!!  Taylor got a good sack in on Vick's replacement. Actually the kid did pretty good as a starter.

Ack! This is the dumbest team in the league - 6,374 penalties in one game! They should change their name from the Denver Broncos to The Team That Likes to Hold and Jump Off-Sides On Every Stinkin' Play!

I'm always up for a little action, Dan - you name the stakes. I'd like to keep it under $50,000, though - I may still have a chance at Neuheisel's old job in Washington...

As long as you still have Jake Plummer at QB, I'll still be willing to lay down bets against the Broncos.

Broncs/Raiders Monday night - they don't get much bigger than this - Portis should romp! (I hope!)

Thats what all the Bronco's will look like after MNF. The Raiders OWN the Bronco's. Raider cast-off Steve Burlin Wall is your best bet at QB, Jake The Fake will throw too many picks. The Raiders held Clinton Tortoise to 50 and 52 yards respectively in the two meetings last year. Romo & Sharpe have some unfinished business. The forecast calls for a heavy downpour of yellow flags.

Well Bill as much as I hate to say this I dont think this game will be close. I think the Broncos will run all over the Raiders. The Raiders are way to old. So this should be a win for the Broncos. I cant wait until the Broncos come marching into Minn for a butt kicking there....

I was at the game 3 years ago in Denver at Mile High the last time the Vikes played the Broncos and the Vikings came out and won. But whats cool was how many Viking fans were there. I was very shocked to see that many fans for the Vikes.

Since I am not one to gloat, I'll just say that the Raiders did go out onto the field, which was pretty ballsy of them -

The Vikes had their chance to kick the Broncs ass in the Super Bowl, but couldn't get past the Falcons - we had to smack them around instead... this year may be different -

Ya yes the great Super Bowl that was to be and never happened!!! I still think that would have been a great game. But the Vikings held true to form and lost in a grand way as always in the big one. The joy of being a Vikes fan:sigh:
But damm I didnt think the Raiders were that bad. They made the Snake look like a All-Pro out there. But the Raiders are a old team and it showed last night and as the year goes on it will show more. It will be tough to be a Raider fan this year...

Can I just say that was THE MOST BORING MNF I ever watched. We even left the bar before the 4th quarter ended.
Where were the Raiders? It looked like they didn't show up and other people were in their uniforms.

Very boring, PB - the game was over within the first 10 minutes. The ole' Raiders ain't what they used to be...

Big games coming up against KC and Minnesota, though... it's a good thing they get a breather in between with the Silk Curtain coming to town... :D What kinda' bet you got in mind, Dan?

So much for the Raiders owning the Broncos. I am starting to have a good feeling about this team even though they beat three pretty awful teams. Now if only Portis could finish a game...

The game was LAUGHABLE at halftime.
The Broncos looked SO pumped at the beginning of the game and it looked as if Gannon was nervous :umm
I'd be embarrassed to be a member of the raider nation after that one ;)
Maybe it's too bad the Phins don't have the Broncos on their schedule this season! I bet it would be a good game.
PLUS to top it off I left Plummer on my bench because of all the talk of a slightly separated shoulder, I thought he was gonna have a crappy game....silly me. He would have netted me a crap load of points!

and YES RB I still have to get to the post office....I know, I know...:D

Plummer's been doing OK - I'm still not sold on him. His happy feet have been lucky so far, but will probably lead to a crucial mistake in a crucial situation.

After a solid week of hearing how the Broncs can't afford to look past Detroit, they just about did, anyway - next week may tell the tale - and settle bragging rights for the AFC West -

I just thought the Pony Express was running a little slow, PB - sometimes they have a hard time finding a place to cross the Mississippi River :D - don't worry about it at all, I know how that goes. I still haven't mailed my '74 tax return :D

Its coming closer and closer!!!!

Two weeks and counting......

You have to come to the Dome of horror!!!!

After almost lossing to the Lions are you scared?!?!

RockieBill
09-29-2003, 01:11 PM
Haha, I'm not scared, but the Broncs might be - depending on how the next couple of weeks shake out, this game could be huge!

If the Broncs stumble against KC, or, Heaven forbid, the Steelers, I'd have to give the Vikes the edge... we shall see. I do seem to remember that the Lions had the Vikes down 10-0 not too long ago... :D

Ah yes they did but then with a WR with back spams and a QB with a broke back opened up the offense, and toyed with the Loins the rest of the game.

The Vikes are running with three backup RB and are the best running team in the NFL. The broncos DL have to get around those mountains that are infront of Culpepper.

I cant wait for this game. It will be one of the best all year long but I think like you Bill it depends on the Cheifs game first.

Durango53
10-06-2003, 11:51 AM
CRUSHED!!! Now they have after Pit to face the Vikings which have one of the best ever records coming off a bye week..... In the Dome and with a Culpepper that wants to keep his starting job that can run, or it could be Gus that wants to shove a football up a broncos butt.

Just who do the Broncos plan for? Or do they plan at all?

Hi Bill,

I know the Broncos have to get by the Steelers but ...

Vike vs. Broncos

Should be quite a matchup.

Vikes should have everyone healthy except Bennett.

Go Vikes!

RockieBill
10-11-2003, 12:01 AM
Hey, TC!

It looks to be a helluva game on the horizon - right now, I think the Vikes are the better team. You probably saw the Broncs special teams' fiasco last week vs KC, and they seem to be having trouble getting their running game in gear.

If they play well vs Pittsburgh and don't get too beat up, it could be a great game!

RockieBill
10-13-2003, 11:33 AM
Dammit Dan, your Steelers almost did squeak out a win - the Broncs couldn't cover the spread, though -

All in all, it was a good game - I'll give it a B+ :bigsquare

Yawn..........

If the Broncos want to win they better put up more than the 17 they had sunday vs the Vikes.....

With a avg 345 LB linemen coming at them with a 6-5 265 QB coming at them and the best running attack in the game and at the Dome sweet Dome the Broncos better bring some lunchs with them. It is going to be a very long day for them.......

Oh ya did I say they have a little WR problem to.... Some guy named Moss cant seem to stay under a 100 yards per game and a few TD catchs per game also.... Hopfully he will break out of that slump and really play a game.....

A preview for the Broncos from Dave and Scott.

Dave Logan- Welcome to the Metro Dome today for the Broncos and Vikings. The Broncos come in today to face one of the best offense around.

Scott Hastings- They havnt seen how good the Broncos offense is then huh Dave? How good those nice passes are that Jake throws up there.

Dave- Uh sure Scott, but the Brocnos are going to have to play great defense because even though they almost beat KC they havnt faced a guy at WR like Moss this year. This could be a tough game for the Broncos but they belive they can win. But a story to is that the Vikings have upgraded there Defense alot. They have added alot of key parts and one of those parts is old Bronco Denard Walker. He is helping the Vikes lead the NFL in INT's.

Scott- Well they havnt faced Jake yet with his laser passing and pin point contol. Walker is done he is washed up because Mike told me that and who cares if the Vikings are leading the NFL in INT's they will be lucky even if they get to sniff the ball today. Jake is the best in the NFL Mike said that when they signed Jake.

Dave- Uh thanks again Scott. But it should be a great game one of the best offense vs one of the best Defense.

Scott- Dave how can you call the Vikings a good Defense?

Dave- Uh Scott I was talking about the Broncos Defense. But here we go.

Early in the 3 quarter....

Dave- Oh no Jake has just threw his 5th pick of the game. And it is the second that Walker has pick off today. It wasnt even close it was the worst duck I have seen and Walker was all over it.

Scott- I dont know Dave a laser like that the only thing I can think of is that Jake thought Walker was still on our side. But the Vikings Defense is just getting lucky out there Jake will bring them back the 40 points they are down just watch. How hard he is throwing the ball the WR are bound to get under them soon and start to get down the field.

Dave- Scott you are a moron I have always wanted to tell you that and you are dragging me down. I could be one of the best but you keep dragging me down... How can you say Jake is throwing lasers out there. Do you know the Broncos aint wearing the purple today..... Jake is throwing Ducks just like he has all season...

Scott- I will have to ask Mike that because Mike said Jake is a great QB I will get back to you on that.

To bad about your Plumber!!! But I think the Broncos are a better team with Burline. Plumber turns the ball over to much. But I am going Phensent hunting in SD this weekend so I will be in the heart of Vikings country. I will be back Monday. I cant wait for this game and I think a very good game this week it will be. This is any teams game. I think the team that turns the ball over less will win.

Great game for the Vikes.....

It kind of ticked me off what Dave Logan said at the end of the game. He said "after coming here and seeing this Vikings team they are a good team"

So I dont know if because of that they were kind of over looking the Vikings or they just didnt plan like they should have. But the Vikings came out and slugged the Broncos in the face and about knocked them out. But the Broncos came back and I was scard there for a bit. But that was a great game and hey props to Portis he was the first 100 yard rusher vs the Vikes this year.... He played a hell of a game and took some hits and stayed in there. But the Broncos if they can get though the next two games they should be ok and make the wild card. I hope the Vikes can take care of the Cheifs for the Broncos though.

It was a great game with some very great plays. Very nice game... Until next time Broncos!!! I WILL BE THERE NEXT TIME!!! 3 YEARS UNTIL THE VIKES COME TO DENVER!!!

RockieBill
10-23-2003, 10:58 PM
Yeah, this game came out about like I thought - the Vikes were just too much. The Broncs are pretty much done, as I doubt if Kanell or J. Jackson will be the answer - maybe they can talk Elway out of retirement?

Dan, if you happen to look in here, would you change the title of this thread from "RB's 2003 Denver Broncos Victory Thread" to "RB's 2003 Denver Broncos Still Looking for a Quarterback Thread" ? Thanks!

Your guys will stroll on Monday Night - the Pats are playing some good football, in spite of the injury bug.

Bill, is that the same white horse they had at old Mile High, or did they build a new one? I just wish I'd made it to a baseball game in the old park, must've been a real hoot those first few years the Rox came into the league.

RockieBill

I do believe that it's the same one, PT. They made a big thing about cleaning him up and setting him atop the new stadium.

On a side note - when he was first put up at Mile Hi, he had all of his 'stallion equipment' intact. It seems that offended some of the local church ladies, so they gelded him with a chainsaw. Some construction guy somewhere has his 'equipment' on a coffee table - now, that's probably a cool collectable... :D
