If one of you fellow fans would kindly reply to this post, the Tigers board would have more posts than Cleveland's. It would be the first time in quite a while the Tigers were ahead of the Indians for anything. I'll take moral victories at this point. Thank you for your help.

I root for the Tigers. My father's from Saginaw originally (went to HS and college in Lansing), and back in the 1940s he and his brother used to hitchhike to Detroit for Tiger games.

Back in 1984, Dad took my brother and me to a Tigers/Skanks game at the Bedpan. It was the very last game of the season, and the Tigers were running away with the division that year. The Skanks, to put it plainly, sucked rocks ( ) Mattingly and Winfield were neck-and-neck for the batting title. The Tiger fans in attendance were rooting for Mattingly, while the Skank fans were rooting for Winfield. The Tigers won, and a fine time was had by some. :)

We used to go to Tigers/Skanks games a lot in the 60s, especially when my uncle was in town with my cousins. That was back in the days when there were still poles blocking many of the seats at the Bedpan. Good memories.

Julie, thanks for sharing those memories. By the looks of the schedules that have been released, either the Mets will be coming to Comerica Park next year or the Tigers are headed for Shea. If the Tigers come your way, you'll be able to add to your Detroit/New York baseball history.

Thanks for respoding to my request as well. I hope you'll stop by here more often. The Tigers need all the support they can get. BTW, most people around here like the Yankees almost as much as you do, Julie.

The Tigers board now has more posts than Cleveland's. Woo Hoo!
