Tigers recall Torres

DETROIT (AP) -- Outfielder Andres Torres was recalled from Triple-A Toledo by the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday.

Torres appeared in 46 games with the Tigers earlier this season, batting .217 with three doubles, three triples and six RBIs. In 70 games with the Mud Hens, he hit .255 with 13 doubles, three triples, two homers, 16 RBIs and 27 steals.

Torres, 25, was Detroit's fourth pick in the 1998 amateur draft.

Y was he recalled, he's only hitting .255, was it cuz he steals bases. The one thing i think their doing right, is building up this team for next year and so on.

Blue, when Cody Ross got hurt last night, the Tigers needed another outfielder. That's why Torres was recalled, again.
